Welcome to the website of the NEMO System, the first European integrated museum application for location based services using PDA’s (portable digital assistants).

The NEMO System is the result of the research program: New museum approaches, development of portable navigation systems for exhibitions- NEMO.

The Project is part of the Research and Technological Development Programme of the Research Foundation of Cyprus and the first pilot application is successfully operational at the Pierides Museum at Larnaka.

The NEMO System involves the design and implementation of a location based information system for managing cultural heritage content. The System refers to the development of a software platform for mobile computing devices (i.e. PDAs), which can be used by the visitors of cultural heritage sites.

Project Leader and responsible for the successfull launching of the System is Charakis Research & Consulting Ltd.
